Boeing 757-200

The Boeing 757-200, which may be the most beautiful and most capable passenger plane ever engineered! I'm still saddened because Boeing has not reintroduced a modern day version! I'm thankful I was able to fly on one twice!

SSAD Alert!

Know the signs and symptoms of SSAD! At any given time, in the year, espcially winter, a snowboarder or skiier may be experiencing Snowboarder Seasonal Affective Disorder or Skiier Seasonal Affective Disorder! Winter is here and the snow storms have come and gone with storms on approach and forecasted, but the snowboarder or skiier has not gone snowboarding or skiing!

SSAD is a form of depression that may start at the end of the winter months and is very easy to diagnose! The condition may have worsened, in the summer, because the snowboarder or skiier had not been riding and became disillusioned with the realization of how far away winter was! Recognize not riding and not skiing is a very serious medical condition!

Step 1.

Help the rider or skiier remember the mountains and the snow by showing them snowboard or ski videos! Closely montitor the rider or skiier during this time and remind them it is ok to cry about their time away from the mountains!

Step 2.

Take them to the mountains, as soon as feasibly possible, to help them start riding or skiing again and to help them remember and realize they have a very serious medical condition!

Step 3.

Place them in snowboarder or skiier exercise boot camp until you can get them to the mountains!

"Our storm met or exceeded expectations in every way.  Liquid totals were astounding.  Snowfall totals were impressive.  Skiing has been unreal!  Very cold air now in place for the weekend.  Refresher storms possible middle to late in the week."

"Winter Coats Preventing Car Seats From Fitting Correctly"

Educational Video

"Car seat safety is important year round. However, during the winter months, parents need to be extra careful when it comes to buckling their children.

Those with large winter coats and snow suits often used to keep kids warm can actually work against them if you get into a serious accident.
Indiana State Police say the larger coats prevent the car seat's harness system from fitting the child.
While there have not been many of these cases locally, troopers say a severe crash could throw a child out of the car seat.
ISP recommends parents dress their kids in a light jacket and buckle them securely into the car seat then proceed to cover them with a blanket or a heavier coat to keep them warm."

Snowfake App!

"Snowflake is a location based meet-up app which connects skiers and riders based on ability level and preferences at the mountain! Finding outdoorsy people has never been easier!"

Winter Driving Preparation & Education

I disagree with the tire ranking order because it does not take into account speed rating!! I personally prefer to stay 30 miles per hour from a tires upper speed limit! People may often travel 20 hours or more on high speed road ways and interstates! People need to get to the mountains safely first!

“This morning Jackson woke up to the largest snowfall since last season with several reports indicating between 6-12 inches of snow blanketing the summit. The top of Rendezvous Bowl looked and felt more like January than October 4th as temperatures were in the 20’s, winds gusted over 35 mph, and snow drifts exceeded 3 feet.” – Jackson Hole, WY
